The bus will depart from the Plant in Pittsboro at 10:00 on Saturday, September 12th, and travel to T.S. Designs in Burlington. There tour guests will learn about Cotton of the Carolinas and this company’s supply chain transparency.
This must be the most unusual textile plant in America – with their free-range chickens, a waste water recovery, a biofuel station, and a solar tube in the restroom. It’s an entire healthy eco-system where that they have created to print T-shirts for Good.
The bus will then travel to the captivating town of Saxapahaw, on the Haw River. Tour guests will tour and taste at Farm House Ales, Left Bank Butchery, and the historic Mill. Hear and see the story of how a defunct Southern mill town has transformed itself through local enterprise.
A delicious lunch will be catered by the Saxapahaw General Store–the region’s only five star gas station.
You’ll be back to the Plant by 3pm to check out the booths in the Slow Money Market, and hear keynote speaker, Woody Tasch.
