THURSDAY KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Author, Restaurateer, Founder of Business Alliance of Local Living Economies
Judy Wicks is the founder of White Dog Cafe in Philadelphia. She figured out that if she wanted to buy from a local beef producer, she needed to figure out how to use a whole cow. She’s also a founder of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (which throws an amazing annual conference, by the way). Judy is a prolific speaker and has published everything from cookbooks to her latest award-winning book, Good Morning Beautiful Business: The Unexpected Journey of an Activist Entrepreneur and Local Economy Pioneer.
Judy’s speaking engagements focus on the topics of local living economies, responsible business, and the importance of feminine energy in building a new more compassionate economy. She has addressed communities throughout the USA and Canada, as well as Berlin, Delhi, Havana, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Her keynote presentations at numerous conferences provide insight and inspiration concerning the deep connections between economy, ecology, and social justice.
Judy has passed through Pittsboro before, but this time we are delighted to put her on stage with Frank Stasio to help us kick-off our conference.
